Led by Bhikkhu Sanghasena : As part of the sacred programs accompanying the Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Buddha in Ladakh, a special Peace Walk will be organized under the theme “Peace in Times of Conflict.” The walk will be led by the respected Buddhist monk and humanitarian Bhikkhu Sanghasena.
Held during the auspicious period of Buddha Purnima, this meaningful gathering seeks to reflect on the enduring message of peace taught by Gautama Buddha, especially in a world often marked by division, tension, and conflict.
The Peace Walk will bring together monks, spiritual leaders, students, residents, and visitors in a collective expression of compassion, unity, and shared responsibility for building a more peaceful world. Walking together in mindfulness, participants will symbolically affirm the power of wisdom, dialogue, and compassion as pathways to overcome conflict and suffering.
Led by Bhikkhu Sanghasena, founder of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, the walk aims to inspire individuals and communities to cultivate peace within themselves while extending kindness and understanding to others.
Through this collective act, the Peace Walk highlights:
+ The relevance of the Buddha’s teachings in addressing conflict and human suffering
+ The importance of inner peace as the foundation for global harmony
+ The role of compassion, dialogue, and understanding in transforming conflict
+ The shared responsibility of individuals and communities in building a culture of peace
In times when the world faces many forms of conflict—social, environmental, and political—this Peace Walk serves as a reminder that the path of peace begins within the human heart.
Residents of Ladakh, devotees, youth, and visitors from around the world are warmly invited to participate in this symbolic walk and join in spreading the timeless message of peace, compassion, and wisdom inspired by the teachings of the Buddha.
