Kushok Bakula Rinpochey Memorial Lecture Series 1.
science and Buddhism, we are looking at two methods of understanding truth. Science mainly deals with the external world through observation, measurement, and experiment. Buddhism, however, focuses on the inner world—our mind, emotions, and consciousness. But there is no contradiction between them. Both encourage us to question, to analyze, and to verify through experience. In Buddhism, we study suffering and how to overcome it, while science studies the brain and human behavior. When these two come together, they can enrich each other—science providing outer knowledge, and Buddhism offering inner wisdom for a more peaceful and meaningful life.
