𝗛𝗼𝗻’𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝘁. 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗧 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗸𝗵 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 Jivetsal and 𝗠IMC to review the preparation

 𝗛𝗼𝗻’𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝘁. 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗧 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗸𝗵 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘀 Jivetsal and  𝗠IMC to review the preparation

The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Shri V. K. Saxena, today undertook an official visit to review preparations for the forthcoming exposition of the Sacred Relics of Gautama Buddha, tentatively scheduled to be held in Ladakh in May this year.

At the outset, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor visited the main exposition site at Jivetsal, Leh, where he assessed the ongoing preparations and infrastructural arrangements. During the visit, he held a meeting with Shri Tsering Dorjey Lakrook, President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), along with other concerned stakeholders. The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor was briefed in detail on the stage preparation, entry and exit gates, visitor flow management, and overall venue planning for the successful  of the exposition. He emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, coordination, and adherence to safety and logistical standards to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all visitors.

Subsequently, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor paid his maiden visit to the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC), Devachan. Upon his arrival at the MIMC Sambodhi Retreat Centre, he was warmly received by Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder of MIMC, along with officials of the Centre.

A cordial interaction followed, during which Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena apprised the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of the wide range of humanitarian, educational, and spiritual initiatives being undertaken by MIMC within the Devachan campus and in other parts of Ladakh. He also briefed the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor on the series of events proposed to be organized in connection with the upcoming Sacred Relic Exposition.

As a mark of respect and goodwill, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena presented a sacred Buddha statue to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, invoking blessings for his successful tenure and dedicated service.

The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor was later taken on a guided tour of the campus, during which he visited key facilities including the state-of-the-art Yoga and Meditation Hall and the Conference Hall. He also visited the MIMC Buddha Park for World Peace, popularly known as the “City of 1000 Buddhas,” where he was briefed on the vision and inspiration behind its development.

Expressing his appreciation, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor commended Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena for his extensive humanitarian work and the impactful initiatives carried out across the 250-acre campus. He lauded the Centre’s significant contribution towards promoting peace, spirituality, and social welfare in the region and assured full support and cooperation from the UT Administration for its future endeavours.

The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor was accompanied during the visit by Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS; Ms. Shashanka Ala, IAS; and Shri Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary, IAS, Administrative Secretaries; Shri Romil Singh Donk, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Shri Raam R, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh; Shri Piyush Fulzele, IPS, SSP Security, UT Ladakh; Shri Jigmet Takpa, IFS (Retd.), Shri Tashi Namgyal, Director, Flowering Dharma.
